Greetings… I’m Lara Kajs. I’m the founder and executive director of the NGO nonprofit The Genocide Report and the author of Stories from Yemen: A Diary from the Field. I am also a former academic turned humanitarian – although I still do a little academic stuff. Welcome to Thinking Out Loud!
In my work as a crisis investigator, I have seen so much human suffering… rape as a weapon… starvation as a weapon… war crimes… genocide… ethnic cleansing… state terrorism… terrorism… and just all-around cruelty. But I have also seen the hope that grows from kindness.
I look forward to sharing my thoughts here… about what’s happening around the globe, the issues… human struggles, politics, international humanitarian law, policy issues… and some random and casual thoughts… we might even talk music and sports.
Let’s keep it real… about the facts… the evidence… what we know. Facts Matter. Words Matter. I invite you to share your thoughts, concerns, and suggestions… and let’s agree to disagree, respectfully.
